Ulta Beauty Mini Haul

Hey Chics!

It's been awhile since I actually got to have a little retail therapy, so I was VERY happy when I received a $50 Ulta Gift Card for doing a confidential review for some upcoming products that have yet to be released! SHHHHH, it's a Secret....

Although, I am NOT able to tell you guys about that part, I CAN tell you about the lovely products that are in my Ulta Bag!

So this was considered a Mini Haul since ya girl is still on a budget, lol.πŸ˜‚

Β

Honestly I was just picking up any primer and throwing this in my bag, I was pretty shocked at the price when I was at the checkout, since it's NYX, you know. It's usually cheap, but they stepped up their game! I tried it out, and this shit is LEGIT! I used a flat foundation brush to apply it all over my face, and it has a very nice hold.

NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer "Yellow" $4.99

I ran out of concealer; and I saw this one and was like: "Oh, what the hell," and threw it in my bag. Honestly, it appeared thick when I dabbed it on, but seemed pretty transparent once I actually started blending it in. I would recommend building with this particular concealer.

NYX HD Finishing Powder "Banana" $9.99

Okay, so I know you're starting to see a trend here... I'm on a NYX Binge... I ran out of my actual Banana Powder, so I needed a quick fix until I could order some more. This powder isn't half bad! It baked very nicely over the NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer and gave me a really nice matte finish. NYX, you came in clutch with this one!πŸ‘πŸ½

NYX Matte Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray $7.99

This is my Go-To product FOREVER.

This brow pencil is a definitely a quick fix in most of my morning beauty routines, or shall I say morning non-beauty routines when I wake up and want to do NOTHING more that just my brows for work because you know.. Eyebrows MUST be on FLEEK.

Ardell Double Up Wispies $5.49

Finally, something NOT NYX!!!!!πŸ˜‚  I am finally going back to my eyelash roots with the Ardell as I do not have and refuse to have a budget for expensive ass lashes that do the EXACT same thing!!! **Rant Over**

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge + Travel Sponge Case $6.99

I actually never realized how much I liked the precision tip until I actually used it with my foundation and concealer. It was LIFE CHANGING. I'm honestly conflicted between this and the original Beauty Blender, and that's saying something.πŸ‘€

Neutrogena Oil-Free Cleaning Wipes - Pink Grapefruit $7.99

I love wipes, and I love the clean feeling they give me! I normally am a Simple Skincare kind of girl, but I wanted to give my old Neutrogena wipes another go. So far, I'm very happy!

Overall, my total came out to about $71.60, but HOLD UP! Ya girl came in clutch with that 20% OFF Coupon for Ulta, so the price went down to $57.29! Then, I hit em with tha Gift Card, so my total was a WHOPPING $7.29!!! How's that for a discount?

Make sure to check out Ulta, and their awesome discounts they have going on right now! You DO NOT want to miss out!

I hope you enjoyed this list! What's in your Mini Haul!? I'd love to know! Comment BELOW!

My Six Product Face

Hey Chics!

We see a lot of beauty gurus with their makeup SLAYED for the gods! But how many products do they use!?

A LOT.

Now, I myself am quite guilty of using 10-15 products on my face to get the perfect look, so I decided to challenge myself by using only 5-6 products for this look. (Believe me. It was NOT easy using only 6 products).

Here are the products I used:

Of course, with only 6 products, the look was going to be very natural, so I had to plop in a bold lip!

First, I used my all time favorite drugstore foundation by Maybelline! It's perfect for my sensitive oily/combination skin, and does not break me out what-so-ever! I added a dab to my damp Beauty Blender (a little really goes a long way) and blended it in all over my face and neck. For full-coverage, I add just a little dab and go over my face again.

Β

Β

Next, I use my Anastasia DIPBROW Pomade in Granite. This is perfect if you want deep brows (or when you run out of your eyebrow pencil)! I try not to use a lot because the color is VERY dark, and can look crazy if done incorrectly. Overall, I really like this product!

Β

On to the contour! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my L.A. Girl Pro Concealers!!!! They give me the best full-coverage, and are complete perfection for highlighting & contouring! The best part though is they are VERY cheap!! I highly recommend these concealers HANDS DOWN. I also use a Beauty Blender and Oval Brush to blend out the concealer!

Β

Now, I go back to my eyes and use the Absolute New York Nano Liner. I got this liner by accident in one of my Amazon packages from a seller who was sending me products for reviewing, and I just fell in love with it! It's actually a great liner substitute for when I run out of my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner!

Β

Next up is Buxom's NEW BIG Tease Plumping Mascara! I was one of the first bloggers to receive this product complimentary, and I didn't even know I had it until my parents (FINALLY) told me that it was mailed to their house! I could have been using this like a month or so ago...😩😩😩  But better late than never! I really love how the first and second coat goes on, but because my lashes are crazy (I have to straighten them by turning the curler upside down then re-curl them), I had to add additional coats, which made it clump a little. Nothing a clean mascara wand can fix! Overall, I really liked how my lashes turned out.

Lastly, I added the bold lip! Now, at one point, I was not one to wear bright colors on my lips, especially ORANGE!! As time went on and also working at Sephora, I was able to experiment and try new things. Come to find out, I don't look half bad in bright colors!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚  This color is called "Orange County" by NYX Cosmetics, and I am in LOVE with this color! I finished the makeup look with a few coats of this liquid lipstick, and I was ready to rock & roll!

The Finished Product

DRUMROLL...............................

TADA!!!!

TADA!!!!

I am very happy with how the final look turned out! I think this will be my Go-To look when I just want to keep it simple. It's not time consuming, and it's a versatile look for work and for going out! This is also a fun way to experiment with lipsticks - Just switch up the color!

What do you think about this look?

What are your 5-6 Products you can use for a full look?

Marilyn Who? - How I Got This Makeup Look!

By now you all should know that I am a sucker for makeup. It's quite the addiction to have, I must say... I know I have not been doing makeup tutorials lately, and I apologize for that. College, Part-time jobs, and YouTube streaming do not go well together! Now, it is summer, and I can finally get my groove back! (Now I'm thinking about that movie "How Stella got her groove Back")... πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ™ˆ

ANYWAYS!

This is an impromptu look that I mastered in a matter of.. Well.. An hour.

I came up with this look by accident, and my friends told me that I looked like the black Marilyn Monroe! (must have been the blonde hair lol).

I haven't decided on if I'm making a video tutorial yet, but I will tell you all of the products I used to achieve this look, and hopefully you too can achieve this same look, which makes me want to start a new trend... (Stay Tuned for the contest info soon)!

This oil is as good for your face as any other face oils and contains 15 essential plant oils to moisturize the skin and create flawless foundation application and that dewy finish we all crave!

TIP: I like to mix in my foundation and the oil together, then apply it with a stippling brush for a more natural look.

This luxury foundation gives FULL coverage in 1-2 dots on the face! It's so thick that it'll cover anything, so be careful of how much you use. In this instance, a little really goes a long way.

I first used the eye shadow "Guilt Trip" to line my crease above the eye lid and "Tryst" to fill it in. Then I used the eye shadow "Suede" directly over it and blended to my brow bone with a fluffy brush.

This is one of my favorite palettes! It's clay infused, and It smells amazing too!! - Almost smells like chocolate 😁. After priming my lid, I used the color "Whisper" on half of my lid closest to the bridge of my nose. I then used "Crush" on the other half of the lid and blended it for a smoother look. I finally used "Heartbreaker" to darken the outer edge of my eyes and bottom lash line for a more dramatic look.

  • LASHES IN A BOX - The Makeup Show ✨EXCLUSIVE✨ (Available November 2016)πŸ‘€

I feel super special about this product because I won tickets to The Makeup Show NYC a few weeks back, and I had the opportunity to network with multiple beauty vendors and purchase products at a HUGE discount! I also had access to The Makeup Show "only" exclusive items such as these beautiful 10 pair sat of handmade lashes by LASHES IN A BOX! They will not be available to the public until November 2016, so I'm going to make these babies last!

To accent my lashes even more (Not that they need it anyways), I used this creamy waterproof eyeliner to give my eyes that sexy, sultry look that will make everyone have a double take!  (Use on top and bottom lash line).

This palette is a DREAM! Every color you could ever want or need is in this very palette. I used the color "Nectar" to highlight my forehead, under eyes, cheekbones, bridge of my nose, chin, and slightly under the hollows of my cheeks. I also topped it with "Ben Nye Banana Powder to set. I then let that sit while I moved on to the contouring, and for that, I used a different product first: the L.A. Girl PRO Conceal HD Concealer in the color "Chestnut." I used this to contour around my hairline, sides of my nose, hollows of my cheeks, and jawline for definition. I then took my contouring brush to blend it in. After that, I went back to the NYX palette and used the color "Tan" and went back over the same areas to set the contour (make sure to BLEND)! I also went back with a clean face brush to wipe away any excess power from the banana powder.

I used this to blend in all of my highlighting and contouring I just did, so I could get a even look. I would recommend just a soft fluffy brush to blend. I then finished it off when the powder blush in the color "Raizin."

It's matte; It's waterproof. It's vibrant with color. What more could you want? I was skeptical at first of this lipstick because of the cheap price, but I am so glad I was proved wrong. I prefer this brand over my other upscale lipsticks (and that's saying A Lot). Another thing is the bright purple: I'm not one to venture out on colors, especially unnatural ones such as "Trickster," but I found that it fits me. The goal is: "Wear the lipstick, but don't let the lipstick wear you." So instead of going for Marilyn's bold and timeless red, I shot for Tika's "new and vibrant purple!"

Nobody better EVER walk out of their house without setting their makeup. If you do, I WILL FIND YOU & I WILL SPRAY YOU... This particular spray lets your makeup last all day/night without any shine (this is for all you matte finish lovers our there). You also have other options for the Dewy Finish setting spray. This was my final step in my makeup process.

Don't forget the BOMB ASS Wig that started it all!! I just received this baby from www.luffywig.com complementary for my honest and unbiased review, and honestly, I thought blonde would not look good on me, but it works, so I think I'll rock it for awhile! 😏  All I needed to do was wand curl it a bit to give it life and BOOM! Black Marilyn!

I hope this article helped you some, and I would LOVE to see your interpretation of this look!

Β

Until Next Time...
