My Six Product Face

Hey Chics!

We see a lot of beauty gurus with their makeup SLAYED for the gods! But how many products do they use!?

Now, I myself am quite guilty of using 10-15 products on my face to get the perfect look, so I decided to challenge myself by using only 5-6 products for this look. (Believe me. It was NOT easy using only 6 products).

Here are the products I used:

Of course, with only 6 products, the look was going to be very natural, so I had to plop in a bold lip!

First, I used my all time favorite drugstore foundation by Maybelline! It's perfect for my sensitive oily/combination skin, and does not break me out what-so-ever! I added a dab to my damp Beauty Blender (a little really goes a long way) and blended it in all over my face and neck. For full-coverage, I add just a little dab and go over my face again.

Next, I use my Anastasia DIPBROW Pomade in Granite. This is perfect if you want deep brows (or when you run out of your eyebrow pencil)! I try not to use a lot because the color is VERY dark, and can look crazy if done incorrectly. Overall, I really like this product!

On to the contour! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my L.A. Girl Pro Concealers!!!! They give me the best full-coverage, and are complete perfection for highlighting & contouring! The best part though is they are VERY cheap!! I highly recommend these concealers HANDS DOWN. I also use a Beauty Blender and Oval Brush to blend out the concealer!

Now, I go back to my eyes and use the Absolute New York Nano Liner. I got this liner by accident in one of my Amazon packages from a seller who was sending me products for reviewing, and I just fell in love with it! It's actually a great liner substitute for when I run out of my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner!

Next up is Buxom's NEW BIG Tease Plumping Mascara! I was one of the first bloggers to receive this product complimentary, and I didn't even know I had it until my parents (FINALLY) told me that it was mailed to their house! I could have been using this like a month or so ago...😩😩😩  But better late than never! I really love how the first and second coat goes on, but because my lashes are crazy (I have to straighten them by turning the curler upside down then re-curl them), I had to add additional coats, which made it clump a little. Nothing a clean mascara wand can fix! Overall, I really liked how my lashes turned out.

Lastly, I added the bold lip! Now, at one point, I was not one to wear bright colors on my lips, especially ORANGE!! As time went on and also working at Sephora, I was able to experiment and try new things. Come to find out, I don't look half bad in bright colors!😂😂  This color is called "Orange County" by NYX Cosmetics, and I am in LOVE with this color! I finished the makeup look with a few coats of this liquid lipstick, and I was ready to rock & roll!

The Finished Product

I am very happy with how the final look turned out! I think this will be my Go-To look when I just want to keep it simple. It's not time consuming, and it's a versatile look for work and for going out! This is also a fun way to experiment with lipsticks - Just switch up the color!

What do you think about this look?

Nighttime Skincare Routine

Hey Chicsters!

We all know the importance of washing you face, but o we know what time of day this is MOST important?

According to researchers of California-Irvine, New skin cells grow faster while you sleep, so a good evening facial should be a high priority. At night, recovering your skin from sun, every day pollution, and stress is key. Why not help it out with a nighttime skincare routine?

I'm no skincare expert, but I definitely know what works for me. Having sensitive, oily, combination skin is NOT easy. I've had to have cleaners for my T-Zone specifically and another cleanser for the rest of my face. Same this with moisturizers. I recall at the spa having to ave to types of masks on my face so that one part of my face could hydrate and the other pulled out impurities! Absolutely insane!

After years of going through products, I've come to a happy medium with this routine. I'm sure, eventually, it'll change; but in the meantime, I love it!

What's your nighttime skincare routine?

5 Tips for Clear Skin

  • Hydrate!! - You've heard this a million times for a million different reasons, but it's TRUE! Hydration = Healthy Body = Healthy Skin. If you're dehydrated, your skin will overcompensate my producing more oils, thus causing acne. So go grab those cases, and fill up your fridge! DRINK MORE WATER!

  • No Makeup Workout - I admit that I am even guilty of this... You see those Instagram fitness models with a face full of makeup and weights in their hands, but the REALITY is working out in makeup is a breeding ground for clogged pores & sweat combined, which leads to bacteria– Gross. So start and end the workout with a clean face, and shower with salicylic acid. (Now if you absolutely MUST go to the gym with some type of makeup, just do false eyelashes and brows; you'll look hot every time)!

  • Steam your Face - You could go to a spa, or just buy your own small face steamer for your home! This steamer such as Oakleaf is like a mini luxury sauna for your face and not only makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but help you sweat out those toxins! The steam expands your pores to free itself from dead cells, dirt, and bacteria that could be causing your skin to breakout, and will help your skin absorb your facial products you use afterwards. This is by far my favorite method! (Steaming is mainly for mild to moderate acne. For severe acne, please ask a physician before steaming).

  • Change Pillow Cases Weekly - The oil from out hair seeps into our pillow cases, and we don't even realize it. Our face will get a full dose of all of that oil constantly if those pillow cases don't see a washer SOON! Dirty pillow cases are one of the main causes for breakouts and acne not getting any better, so Get to Washing!

  • Rosewater - You can make a homemade toner with rosewater! Natural rosewater soothes and balances the skin, and relieves any redness and calms any irritation. It's also great for every skin type! Here's a How-To on making Rosewater Toners.

I hope you enjoyed my 5 Tips for Clear Skin! I'd love to hear from you in the comments on any tips or tricks you have that worked for your skin!!

Anti-Aging Products: 20's & 30's - How Young is Too Young?

Anti-Aging regimens are definitely the last thing that we want to think about - EVER, but are scientists onto something when it comes to preventative measures? So this leads me to my question: How young is too young?

We are constantly under the the impression that anti-aging is for women in their 40's, but by that time if you are just delving into the anti-aging serums, it's most likely too late. Even with modern medicine, we can only reverse so much.. But why reverse when we could just PREVENT?

Now nobody wants to think about "Pre-Aging." This is usually found in our late 20's and 30's, and it comes from not taking care of our skin, and sun damage - Mostly Sun Damage!

We know that we definitely need our daily dose of Vitamin D by going out in the sun, but too much sun without the proper protection can cause skin aging or worse, skin cancer. So, I have a moisturizer that will not only help you with your anti-aging of the skin if you're already showing signs, but it also helps fight acne active Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid. This moisturizer also includes Green Tea, Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Propolis, Jojoba Oil, and Shea Butter!!

Did I also mention that it has a cool button that you can press? Yes! Instead of the boring twist off cap, you can simply pop off the clear top, and press down as demonstrated below:

1.) Take off the clear top.

1.) Take off the clear top.

2.) Press down on the button.

2.) Press down on the button.

3.) Scoop the moisturizing cream from the center.

3.) Scoop the moisturizing cream from the center.

I've used this product, and I can definitely feel a difference in my skin. I know it'll take weeks to see full results, but the slight tingles I feel let me know it's working! Personally, I'm using this for the firming and anti-acne part of my skin, and all of the vitamins - not for the anti-aging.

If you're not showing signs of sun damage, skin aging, or acne, I wouldn't worry about it honestly, until your 30's, but if you're curious in trying out an anti-aging, anti-acne Retinol cream from a team of scientists in New York that won't break the bank, then check New York Biology's Retinol Cream on Amazon HEREIf you want to check out their official site, click HERE.

New York Biology also provides other products ranging from acne scar creams to essential oils!
