Nighttime Skincare Routine

Hey Chicsters!

We all know the importance of washing you face, but o we know what time of day this is MOST important?

According to researchers of California-Irvine, New skin cells grow faster while you sleep, so a good evening facial should be a high priority. At night, recovering your skin from sun, every day pollution, and stress is key. Why not help it out with a nighttime skincare routine?

I'm no skincare expert, but I definitely know what works for me. Having sensitive, oily, combination skin is NOT easy. I've had to have cleaners for my T-Zone specifically and another cleanser for the rest of my face. Same this with moisturizers. I recall at the spa having to ave to types of masks on my face so that one part of my face could hydrate and the other pulled out impurities! Absolutely insane!

After years of going through products, I've come to a happy medium with this routine. I'm sure, eventually, it'll change; but in the meantime, I love it!

What's your nighttime skincare routine?

Weird Product Alert: Beauty Apparatus Review

The Weijing Xi Hei Tou Beauty Apparatus has to be the most interesting beauty tool I've used. Here's the scoop:

This tool is a beauty apparatus for Microdermabrasion and extracting acne and fat. The microdermabrasion and acne part I can understand, but the FAT!? I'm still figuring that part out honestly. I can't imagine sucking out my "Face Fat..."😂 Pretty much, in English terms, it's a blackhead suction pore cleaner for your face! Pretty cool and weird, huh?

My personal experience has been interesting, as I first tested this item on my boyfriend, George, one night to make sure it wouldn't ruin my skin, lol!! We all know how this ends... He's mad because I left hickey-like marks all over him with this machine (and I drew a heart on him for fun, too 😏). (This was before I read the instructions that specifically state to NOT leave the suction in one area for a long time). Oops..😓 They obviously went away the next morning, sooo #SorryNotSorry

This machine comes with four heads for the suction probe. Each one has it's own function:

  1. Micro-Crystal Beauty Probe: Is used for facial dermabrasion
  2. Big Circular Hole Probe: Is used for blackheads, fat, and cosmetic residues
  3. Small Circular Hole Probe: Is used for the same except it's specifically for weaker skin around the eyes, etc.
  4. Oval Probe: Is for microgroove parts such as corner of eyes, cheeks, nose, etc.

The apparatus has high, medium, and low gears as well as a USB connector for charging. I've really only used the Big, Small, and Oval Probe to get the blackheads out of my nose on the highest setting. I didn't think to take before and after photos (shame on me), but I can definitely tell you that it works just as well as the Biore Pore Strips from the drug store!! The only difference is the suction makes your nose a little red, so I recommend doing this at night when you have nowhere else to go.

The suction literally pulls out the blackheads!! I bet you're wondering; "Where do the blackheads go!? That's so gross!!" Yes, it is gross, but they do stick to a filter that you can take out and replace (they come with a lot)! It also comes with silicon rings just in case the other ones break off the filtering cap.

Overall, I feel that this product is very strange, but cool at the same time! It's quite useful, but doesn't get ALL of the blackheads out. You really have to work rather than using pore strips.I like it because I have the option to do my own microdermabrasion at home without going to an aesthetician. NOTE:  If you do not use this properly, BE PREPARED to have hickeys all over your face. NO LIE.. The important part is to READ the instructions thoroughly before use. If your want to learn more about the apparatus, click here.

I do plan on doing a video update, so stay tuned for that!

5 Skincare Secrets You Didn't Know About

"How do I get skin like the super models?!"

It seems as though we all have to go through so many hoops to find that one regimen for our skin that will help us achieve the perfect look!! Truth be told, it is not and will not be easy to achieve. but if there is any solace when it comes to skin, simple secrets and tips that have worked for others is definitely a place to start.

Keep reading for skincare advice you never thought you'd need!

As a model, I have tried many regimens that were definitely HIT or MISS. There were so many more Misses than Hits for sure, and it can be daunting. So the recurring question is: "How do I get skin like the super models?" Here are some of their secrets that have been shared!

You may have cringed a little after seeing this as the first secret, but it really does work! At 21, I even feel like I should have used eye cream a lot earlier! (Crazy Right)!? Eye cream helps PREVENT wrinkles, fine lines, and puffiness as waiting to use it when you already have it is already too late. Kendall Jenner and Victoria's Secret, Stella Maxwell consider eye cream an essential to their beauty routine. Do you stay up late, or are you a simply college kid? Eye cream is the way to go.

Yes, it's what it sounds like.... And even better; It helps get rid of dark circles! Calvin Klein Model, Victoria Brito, says to slice a potato into little pepperoni slices and place each one over your eye for 15-20 minutes once a week. She swears that after five repetitions, you'll see a drastic difference! This is definitely a Must-Try as it is unique and cheap!

This is another beauty tip from Kendall. Although this may seem like a very simple and obvious rule, when it comes to skincare, it couldn't be closer to the truth. Your face is very sensitive to anything it comes in contact with, even your own hands! Your hands are very dirty, and even after washing them, you still get bacteria on them. This will lead to acne breaks as well as other issues. If you're a picker, it's time to stop touching your face!! You'll reap the results of breaking such a habit!

I am very guilty of this... As a beauty blogger, I get many products, including skincare to test in return for my honest review, which has caused me to drift away from my regular routine. This can also cause breakouts and irritate the skin because it is not used to all of those products! I have made a point to not try new skincare unless my routine is no longer working for me.

This is an important one! Invest in your skin, and it will reward you back with glowing skin! - You may even stop wearing makeup! Going to an aesthetician once a month for facials and skin treatments is so good for your skin and body, as they are specialized in all skin types and can put you on the road to the skin you're wanting to achieve. They have so many treatments from regular facials down to microdermabrasion and skin peels! It's well worth the money for gorgeous skin!

5 Tips for Clear Skin

  • Hydrate!! - You've heard this a million times for a million different reasons, but it's TRUE! Hydration = Healthy Body = Healthy Skin. If you're dehydrated, your skin will overcompensate my producing more oils, thus causing acne. So go grab those cases, and fill up your fridge! DRINK MORE WATER!

  • No Makeup Workout - I admit that I am even guilty of this... You see those Instagram fitness models with a face full of makeup and weights in their hands, but the REALITY is working out in makeup is a breeding ground for clogged pores & sweat combined, which leads to bacteria– Gross. So start and end the workout with a clean face, and shower with salicylic acid. (Now if you absolutely MUST go to the gym with some type of makeup, just do false eyelashes and brows; you'll look hot every time)!

  • Steam your Face - You could go to a spa, or just buy your own small face steamer for your home! This steamer such as Oakleaf is like a mini luxury sauna for your face and not only makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but help you sweat out those toxins! The steam expands your pores to free itself from dead cells, dirt, and bacteria that could be causing your skin to breakout, and will help your skin absorb your facial products you use afterwards. This is by far my favorite method! (Steaming is mainly for mild to moderate acne. For severe acne, please ask a physician before steaming).

  • Change Pillow Cases Weekly - The oil from out hair seeps into our pillow cases, and we don't even realize it. Our face will get a full dose of all of that oil constantly if those pillow cases don't see a washer SOON! Dirty pillow cases are one of the main causes for breakouts and acne not getting any better, so Get to Washing!

  • Rosewater - You can make a homemade toner with rosewater! Natural rosewater soothes and balances the skin, and relieves any redness and calms any irritation. It's also great for every skin type! Here's a How-To on making Rosewater Toners.

Anti-Aging Products: 20's & 30's - How Young is Too Young?

Anti-Aging regimens are definitely the last thing that we want to think about - EVER, but are scientists onto something when it comes to preventative measures? So this leads me to my question: How young is too young?

We are constantly under the the impression that anti-aging is for women in their 40's, but by that time if you are just delving into the anti-aging serums, it's most likely too late. Even with modern medicine, we can only reverse so much.. But why reverse when we could just PREVENT?

Now nobody wants to think about "Pre-Aging." This is usually found in our late 20's and 30's, and it comes from not taking care of our skin, and sun damage - Mostly Sun Damage!

We know that we definitely need our daily dose of Vitamin D by going out in the sun, but too much sun without the proper protection can cause skin aging or worse, skin cancer. So, I have a moisturizer that will not only help you with your anti-aging of the skin if you're already showing signs, but it also helps fight acne active Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid. This moisturizer also includes Green Tea, Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Propolis, Jojoba Oil, and Shea Butter!!

1.) Take off the clear top.

1.) Take off the clear top.

2.) Press down on the button.

2.) Press down on the button.

3.) Scoop the moisturizing cream from the center.

3.) Scoop the moisturizing cream from the center.

I've used this product, and I can definitely feel a difference in my skin. I know it'll take weeks to see full results, but the slight tingles I feel let me know it's working! Personally, I'm using this for the firming and anti-acne part of my skin, and all of the vitamins - not for the anti-aging.

If you're not showing signs of sun damage, skin aging, or acne, I wouldn't worry about it honestly, until your 30's, but if you're curious in trying out an anti-aging, anti-acne Retinol cream from a team of scientists in New York that won't break the bank, then check New York Biology's Retinol Cream on Amazon HEREIf you want to check out their official site, click HERE.
